Yes, someone actually said those words to me this morning! And I beamed with pride, after being confused for a minute wondering how she knew, and said yes!
I had a little over an hour to kill this morning in between the time I dropped my daughter, Kaia off at school and the time I had to be back to help chaperone her field trip. I could have gone and puttered around my house for a half hour, or high-tailed it over to the gym and do a quick 3 miles. I chose the latter.
I was feeling okay at the start of the run, so I did the first mile at 5.8. Still feeling okay, not really great, I started the second mile at 6.0. At 1.5 miles, I upped it a tiny bit again to 6.1. 6.2 at 2 miles, 6.3 at 2.25 miles, 6.4 at 2.5 miles and 6.5 at 2.75 miles. Or something like that. The last quarter mile was really hard for me at that pace and I had to push myself and focus to finish. 3 miles in a little less than 30 minutes.
After I was done stretching, a lady walked up to me and asked if I was training for a marathon. I was bewildered for a moment wondering how she knew or tried to recognize her from the Nike Women's Marathon facebook page. But I didn't, so I just smiled and told her yes. She said she saw me running and I looked fast (hehe, thanks, lady, even though I know that's not true). She said she sees me dropping my daughter off at school in the mornings (her kids go to the same school), and she sees my legs and thinks, "Those are strong legs. I like those legs." Hehe. Flattery will get you everywhere!
Anyway, she teaches a few classes at the gym, boot-camp and spin if I recall correctly, and she also independently does a boot-camp class about once a month at the park. I'm really thinking about taking one of her boot-camp classes. She gave me her card and told me to call or text her.
This lady was super slim, but had really nice muscles. I want to be her best friend. Hehe.
I'm feeling really gross right now. I didn't shower after my run this morning. I always shower after I work out. But there was no time this morning. Either I work out and don't shower, or I just don't work out. I'm sitting here at my desk at work, feeling like I have a layer of salt all over my skin. And my hair looks like I poured a vat of oil all over it. Attractive.
