Yesterday, my legs were just feeling super tired after doing some weights. I hopped on a treadmill to do my cardio, but I just wasn't feeling it. So I hopped on an elliptical. It was super boring at first and I didn't know if I'd be able to manage a full 30 minutes on it.
But I did it. I even sped up with the last "mile." The thing I didn't like about it (other than the boredom and the inability to see how my time on it compares in real life) was the fact that you can't stretch your legs out when you go fast like running. Your feet are stuck on the pedals and you just make them go around and around faster.
I'm trying to do some cross-training so to give my muscles a break from all the pounding it takes from running. I even did the bike once last week.
It's boring. But I know my body is thanking me.
