All I Want For Christmas...is a bosu ball

Well, and the TRX training system, and the Brazilian Butt Lift workout DVDs, and this cool-looking green Sacouny running jacket. But I got jack...until yesterday.

The husband and I were cruising around Target yesterday when he saw the bosu ball and remembered that I had asked for that for Christmas. He must have been in a good mood or something because he picked it up and put it in the cart. Hooray! (We've been trying to keep to a super tight budget.)

And when I got home from work yesterday, I saw that he even inflated it for me.

That's me and the boy trying to get a good picture of us on it. Not quite.

Almost.

Money. Kinda.

The three personal trainers I've worked with in the past year all had me do different exercises on this thing. It really works your core because you have to constantly work to stabilize yourself. Since I have this love-hate relationship with the gym, I've wanted to have one at home.

I remember the first time I got on this sucker about a year ago, my legs were shaking like crazy so much that first trainer said, "Whoa, there, Elvis."

My second trainer had me doing a bunch of single leg exercises on this thing. I remember looking at her like she was crazy when she first demonstrated single leg squats with shoulder raises at the top and oblique twists at the bottom.

My third trainer didn't really have me doing anything too difficult on this thing. Just planks and push-ups and your standard weight-training stuff like tricep kick-backs and chest-flies. Of course, he was fine as hell, and I probably would have hopped on one foot skipping rope on this thing if he asked me to.

Anyway, I did P90X Arms and Shoulders last night and I did most of the exercises on the bosu ball. Go, me! I think I've gotten way too used to Insanity's pace, because I fast-forwarded through all of the P90X breaks. Sometimes, it's just way too slow. And since I know most of the moves, I would just do them one after the other and then fast forward again until the next set.

After P90X I did Insanity's Core Cardio and Balance. Man, I am going to miss this week once it's over. Core Cardio and Balance is the only Insanity workout that I can match them move for move. I am not looking forward to Month 2 next week. Yikes!
