Seriously slackin'

I ran my first half-marathon in August of last year. I just checked my running logs, and I ran over 100 miles in both July and August. That was some dedicated training right there.

Well, I have my second half coming up next month. I ran 67 miles in December. Okay, not bad, not bad, especially since I set a goal of 50 miles for that month. I didn't want to increase my mileage too quickly coming off an injury.

My goal for this month is 75 miles. Well, the month is two-thirds over and guess where I'm at? 33 miles. Sigh. I'm well below the half-way mark. It doesn't look like I'm going to make it...especially since I'll be off in Hawaii come the 27th!

You would think that with a vacation coming up where a bikini is the official uniform my butt would be out there running my ass off prior, but somehow the lazy bug bit me. I'm not running as often as I had planned, I'm half-assing my effort in Insanity half the time, strength-training has been relagated to the back-burner, and I can't even remember when was the last time I went to spin class. Jeez, what happened to me?

I went to the gym this morning and did my hill intervals. Well, I did two hill intervals. But I did it and was quite proud that I didn't have to take any walking breaks. Now I'm sitting here sad thinking how I used to be able to crank out five of those intervals. Hm, perhaps my work-outs need a shake-up.
